General Guidelines

• Links, Commercial and other:

  • May mention tutorials, font sites and brushes sites (or pages at personal sites) in the appropriate forums, but no links.

    • Share the information in this format: "I found the greatest tutorial about ribbon at 'ScrapbookSiteName' (no http or www, nor a .com/net etc allowed)

  • May mention and provide the link information to newspaper/magazine articles and general day-to-day information - but no hot links. (Just put spaces between the www. and the site name and the .com)

    • i.e. information on Breast Cancer awareness or the like is acceptable in the unlinked version.

  • May Not post or provide links to commercial websites, for sales or general information

• Scrapbooking websites (commercial or otherwise):

  • Do not use the forums or gallery to advertise the newest kits, freebies at other sites/blogs, crops, contests, etc. Please contact admin@rakscraps.com about advertising and sponsor opportunities.

  • The RAKScraps’ Admin will, on occasion, post special announcements of crops, CT calls, etc.  Please e-mail admin@rakscraps.com for more information.

• Signatures:

  • May link directly to a single personal website OR personal blog, whether scrapbooking or family related (only one allowed - may not link to a "feed service")

  • May link to ScrapWow Album

  • May link to RAKScraps’ Gallery only

  • May Not link to any other 'off of RAKScraps' site. We all have causes that are close to our hearts, and RAKScraps will not sit in judgement of which ones may or may not be linked to

  • May Not link to Consignment Store

  • May Not contain advertisements of any kits, CD’s, fonts, services, etc. for sale.

• Blinkies:

  • Blinkies are permitted but must be hosted on your own website.

  • Blinkies cannot be used for blatant advertising.

  • Creative Team blinkies are permitted

  • Limit blinkies to no more than 8 - two rows of 4 each - no more than 150 x 50 (pixels size) each.

  • Countdown blinkies (i.e. pregnancy, weight loss, etc.) are acceptable, but count as a row of 4 regular blinkies.

  • Photos can be in your signature, but must follow the blinkie size rules. Photos are not in addition to blinkies, but must be counted.

• The purpose of these rules is to standardize the size of member's signatures, to give people the opportunity to wear their blinkies, and to ensure that no blinkies or photos have "hotlinks" (outbound links). These rules apply to all Members, Creative Team, and Staff. Thank you.

• Sharing Freebies:

  • Do not link to outside website or website page dedicated to freebies.

  • Share a freebie via direct link to that freebie.

  • Contact admin@rakscraps.com with any questions regarding proper links.

• Violations will be handled:

• 1st Notification: A polite notification Personal Message (PM) with a link to this rules page.

• 2nd Notification: A Personal Message (PM) indicating that your Non-Compliant signature/outside link were deleted.

• If a person rebuilds their Non-Compliant signature, or edits their link to become "hot" (outward bound) again, we will assume this individual is using RAKScraps.com as a platform for another site, and the member will be deleted/banned.

• Contact admin@rakscraps.com with any questions regarding proper links, or this policy.

• Other Guidelines: There are no political or religious discussions permitted in the forums. However, layouts linked may contain your beliefs. There is no special treatment here regarding this, but we ask that you keep it tasteful. Please note, we will continue to have one forum available for requests for thought and prayer. Please use common courtesy in relation to these posts.
   
   The forums and gallery will be moderated. If you have concerns with a particular forum, please contact the forum moderator. If your concerns are with the gallery, please contact one of the gallery moderators.
   
   Please remember that we're all people with feelings. Be tactful and courteous when chatting with each other and about others, whether they be part of the site or not. No flaming or bad-mouthing of other scrapbook sites or personnel will be tolerated.
   
   Additionally, please ask for explicit permission before incorporating other member's posted photos / pages in your own layouts.
